Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Epicures collects when you shop at epicures.in, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

• When you place an order: your name, mobile number, delivery address, city, state and pincode, the items you order, and any note you add. Your email address, only if you choose to give it.
• When you message us on WhatsApp: your number and the messages you send.
• Technical data your browser sends to our host (such as IP address) when you visit the site. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not set tracking cookies.

Why we use it

• To receive, confirm, pack and deliver your order, and to collect payment in cash on delivery.
• To contact you about your order, including replacements and refunds.
• To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as tax and accounting records.
• To protect the site from fraud and abuse. For this we keep a short, one-way scrambled form of your connection address (not the address itself).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.

Who sees it

Only people who need it to fulfil your order: our team, and the courier or delivery partner who delivers your parcel (they receive your name, phone number and address). Our website and order database are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes data on our behalf. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is used only if you choose to message us there.

How long we keep it

We keep order details for as long as needed to complete your order and handle any complaint, and for the period the law requires us to keep business and tax records. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Your rights

You may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw your consent to our use of it. Deletion does not apply to records we must keep by law. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity, and you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. To make a request, contact our Grievance Officer below. We will reply within a reasonable time and in any case within the period the law prescribes.

Security

Orders are sent to us over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in an access-controlled database. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

Our site is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date. Last updated: 14 October 2026.
